How to Get to Playa Cabeza de Toro

Getting to Playa Cabeza de Toro is relatively easy, especially if we are already in the Punta Cana area. La Altagracia, where this gem is located, is very well connected. The Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is the main point of entry for most international visitors and is about 20-30 minutes by car from Cabeza de Toro.

Once we land at PUJ, we have several options to reach our destination:

• Taxi or Private Transfer: This is the most comfortable and fastest option. There is a wide range of taxis and pre-booked transfer services available at the airport. Prices vary, but it's a safe way to get directly to our hotel or the beach area.
• Car Rental: If we prefer to have autonomy to explore the region, renting a car is an excellent idea. The main rental companies have offices at the airport. The road to Cabeza de Toro is in good condition and the signage is adequate, although a GPS is always useful.
• Public Transport (Guaguas): For more adventurous travelers on a tight budget, the 'guaguas' (local buses) are an option. However, they usually require transfers and can be a bit more complicated if we have a lot of luggage or don't know the area well. It's not the most direct option to get to the beach itself, but rather to the vicinity of the resorts.

If we are already staying in Bávaro or another part of Punta Cana, getting to Playa Cabeza de Toro is even easier:

• Taxi: Taxis are abundant in all tourist areas. We can ask for one at our hotel's reception or find taxi stands at busy points.
