How to Get to Praia do Ouro

Getting to Praia do Ouro beach in Sesimbra is relatively straightforward, making it an accessible destination for many travelers. We always recommend planning the trip in advance, especially if visiting during the high season, to avoid crowds and secure a parking spot.

By Car

If we are coming from Lisbon, the most common route is to take the A2 heading south, then turn off onto the A33 and, finally, the N378 which takes us directly to Sesimbra. The journey usually takes between 40 and 50 minutes, depending on traffic. From the city of Setúbal, the route is equally direct, taking the N379 and then the N378, with an approximate duration of 30 to 40 minutes. Once in Sesimbra, the beach is located in the center of the town. Parking can be a challenge in the summer months. There are paid parking lots near the port and on adjacent streets, but they tend to fill up quickly. Our suggestion is to arrive early or consider using parking on the outskirts of the town and walking a few minutes, enjoying the local atmosphere.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer not to drive, Sesimbra is well connected by bus. From Lisbon, we can take a bus from the TST company (Transportes Sul do Tejo) from the Sete Rios or Praça de Espanha stations. The buses have good frequency and will drop us off at the Sesimbra terminal, just a few minutes' walk from Praia do Ouro beach. From Setúbal, there are also regular bus connections that bring us to the town. It is a comfortable and economical option to enjoy the Portugal beaches without worrying about parking.
