How to Get to Praia do Ancão

Getting to Praia do Ancão is relatively straightforward, and the options vary depending on our preference and starting point. Located in the exclusive golden triangle of the Algarve, between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago, its access is well signposted from the main N125 road. If we travel by car, which is the most comfortable way for most, we will find ample parking areas near the beach, although in high season they can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early. The beach is about 20-25 minutes by car from the center of Faro and the airport.

For those who prefer not to drive, there are alternatives. Taxis or VTC transport services (like Uber or Bolt) are a viable option from Faro or nearby towns, offering door-to-door comfort. Public transport is more limited in this specific area, as the beach is located on a more exclusive and less urbanized coastal strip. However, we can take a bus to Almancil or Vale do Lobo and from there a taxi or a short walk, although this last option may be less practical with luggage or small children. Our recommendation is always the car for greater freedom of movement and to be able to explore the surroundings easily.

The sand here is a pale golden hue, incredibly fine and soft to the touch, making it a pleasure to walk on barefoot.
