By Car

For us, the most comfortable way to get there is by car. From Lisbon, the journey takes approximately one hour and twenty minutes (about 90 km) via the A8 motorway heading north, and then the IP6 which takes us directly to Peniche. Once in Peniche, the signs to 'Praia do Medão' or 'Supertubos' are clear. There are several parking areas near the beach, some free and others paid, especially during the high season or major events like the surfing championship. We always recommend arriving early to secure a good spot, especially if we visit on weekends or during the summer.

By Bus

If we prefer public transport, we can take a bus from Lisbon (Sete Rios or Campo Grande terminal) to Peniche. Several companies offer this service regularly. Once at the Peniche bus station, a taxi or a short ride on a local bus will drop us off near the beach. It is an economical option and allows us to relax on the journey while admiring the Portuguese landscape.

From Other Cities

From other major cities in Portugal, such as Porto or Faro, we can also reach Peniche by bus or train, although these journeys are usually longer and often require a transfer in Lisbon.
