How to Get to Praia de Murração

The most common route involves driving on secondary roads and dirt tracks, often unpaved and with some potholes, requiring patience and, preferably, a car with some ground clearance or a 4x4. From Aljezur, you must take the M501 heading south and then turn off onto well-signposted rural tracks.

If you are coming from Aljezur, the nearest town and main point of reference, the drive takes approximately 15-20 minutes. First, you need to head towards the coast, following the signs that will eventually lead you to the Murração area. Once the asphalt ends, the dirt track begins. It is important to drive slowly and carefully. We strongly recommend checking your fuel level and bringing water and provisions, as there are no services in the immediate vicinity.

The Final Stretch on Foot

Once you reach the end of the road accessible by car, you will find a small dirt clearing that serves as an improvised parking area. From there, access to the beach is exclusively on foot. The path is steep and rocky, winding along the cliff. Although not excessively long, it can be slippery, especially after rain, and requires good physical condition and appropriate footwear. There are no ramps or boardwalks, making it inaccessible for people with reduced mobility or baby strollers.
