By Car

If coming from the south, the most direct route is via the A28 motorway, which connects Porto with Viana do Castelo. Once past the city of Viana, we will take the exit towards Castelo do Neiva or the N13 heading north. Praia de Arda is located between Castelo do Neiva and Anha. There is signage that will guide us to the parking areas, which are usually spacious and well-maintained, especially during the high season. It is common to find free parking, which is a considerable advantage. From the center of Viana do Castelo, the drive usually does not exceed 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public Transport

Public transport to Praia de Arda is a bit more limited. There are bus lines connecting Viana do Castelo with nearby coastal towns, such as Castelo do Neiva or Anha. However, the bus stop closest to the beach may be a considerable walking distance away, which could be inconvenient, especially if we are carrying beach gear or surfboards. Therefore, if we do not have a car, an alternative could be a taxi or a ride-hailing service from Viana do Castelo, which will drop us off directly at the beach access.
