During these months, authorities usually implement a traffic plan that limits private vehicle access to the Arrábida beaches, encouraging the use of public transport or bicycles.

If we travel during the low or mid-season, we can reach the beach vicinity by car. There's a small parking lot, but spaces are very limited and fill up quickly. Our recommendation is to arrive very early in the morning to secure a spot. From the parking lot, there's a walk, often via stairs or a steep slope, down to the sand. It's important to remember that the Parque Natural da Arrábida is a protected area, so we must always respect the signage and not park outside designated areas.

During summer, the best option is to use the specific buses that connect Setúbal with the Setúbal beaches, including Galapos. It's a pleasure to feel it between our toes while we search for the perfect spot for our towel. Despite its popularity, the beach remains remarkably clean, demonstrating care and respect for this natural environment.

The water temperature, although it can be a bit cool early in the day, becomes very pleasant as the day progresses, inviting us to spend hours immersed in its refreshing embrace. Underwater visibility is excellent, making it a favorite spot for snorkeling, allowing us to admire the rich marine life inhabiting its nearby rocky bottoms.

It's not a beach crowded with infrastructure, which we appreciate, but it has what's necessary for a perfect beach day.

• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: There are one or two establishments right on the beach where we can enjoy a light meal, snacks, refreshing drinks, or even a more elaborate meal with fresh fish specialties. They're perfect for not having to carry food and drinks for the entire day.
• Lifeguard Service: During the bathing season, the beach has lifeguard service, providing us with additional peace of mind, especially if we're with children.
• Umbrellas and Sunbeds: It's possible to rent umbrellas and sunbeds, which is very convenient if we don't want to carry our own, and allows us to enjoy shade and comfort on the sand.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: Although basic, there are facilities for showering and public toilets, an essential service after a day of sea and sun.
• Parking: As mentioned, there's a nearby parking lot, although with very limited spaces. It's important to arrive early to secure a spot.
