How to Get to Praia da Aguda

Getting to Praia da Aguda is quite straightforward, which adds points to its already notable appeal. If we are coming from Porto, we have several options that allow us to enjoy the landscape without complications, making the journey part of the experience.

By Car

It's one of the most comfortable ways, especially if we plan to explore the surroundings and have flexible schedules. From the center of Porto, the journey usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day. We should take the A1 south or the VCI (Via de Cintura Interna) and then turn off onto the A29, taking the exit towards Arcozelo/Aguda. The beach has nearby parking areas, both free and paid, although in high season and on weekends they can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. The road infrastructure is excellent, facilitating a smooth trip.

By Train

For us, this is one of the best ways to get there, as it allows us to relax, avoid traffic stress, and enjoy the stunning views. The suburban train line towards Aveiro has a station called 'Aguda'. From São Bento or Campanhã Station in Porto, the journey is about 20-25 minutes and leaves us a short walk from the beach, a pleasant stroll that introduces us to the village atmosphere. It's an ecological, economical, and very picturesque option, as the train runs parallel to the coast in many sections, offering spectacular views of the Atlantic that prepare us for the beauty that awaits.

By Bus

Several bus lines from STCP or other local companies connect Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia with Aguda. Although it can be a bit slower than the train due to intermediate stops, it's an economical alternative and brings us closer to different points of the village and its surroundings, allowing for a deeper immersion in local life.

By Bicycle

For the more adventurous and sports lovers, the Ecovia Litoral is a cycle route that connects several Portugal beaches from Vila Nova de Gaia to Espinho, passing through Aguda. It's a fantastic way to get there, enjoy the coastal landscape, exercise, and feel the sea breeze on your face. The width of the beach, especially at low tide, ensures it never feels excessively crowded, even on the busiest days in the height of summer, always guaranteeing personal space to relax and enjoy. Children can run freely and adults can find their corner of peace.
