Getting to Praia da Ribeira de Cascais is undoubtedly one of its great advantages, especially if we are in Lisbon or its surroundings. Accessibility is excellent, making it easy to visit for any type of traveler.

By Train from Lisbon

The most comfortable and scenic way to get there from the Portuguese capital is by train. We recommend taking the Cascais line from Cais do Sodré station in Lisbon. The journey is spectacular, running along the coast and offering panoramic views of the Tagus estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. The duration is approximately 30-40 minutes, and the Cascais train station is just a few meters from the beach, allowing us to get off the train and practically have our feet in the sand in a matter of minutes. It's an experience that is worth it in itself.

By Car

If we prefer the flexibility of traveling by car, the A5 highway connects Lisbon with Cascais. The trip takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once in Cascais, Praia da Ribeira de Cascais is in the center. However, parking can be a challenge, especially in high season. There are paid underground parking lots nearby, such as Parking da Cidadela or Parking da Vila, but it's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot. We prefer the train to avoid these hassles.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If we are already staying in Cascais or neighboring towns like Estoril, the beach is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. Cascais has an excellent network of bike lanes and promenades that connect the different beaches and points of interest, making walking or cycling a pleasant activity in itself.

The type of ground is predominantly sandy, making it very comfortable for walking barefoot and for children to play without worries. The water temperature, although Atlantic, is pleasant during the summer months, and its clarity allows us to see the sandy bottom. We enjoyed long swims without worrying about currents or strong undertows, which allowed us to relax completely.

• Sun Umbrellas and Sun Loungers: For those who prefer not to carry their own equipment, there are rental points for sun umbrellas and sun loungers, which adds a touch of comfort and allows us to relax without worries.
• Equipment Rental: Occasionally, we found small stalls offering rental of equipment for gentle water activities, like paddle surf boards or kayaks, ideal for exploring the bay calmly.
