How to Get to Praia da Almagreira

Getting to Praia da Almagreira is part of the adventure, and its relative inaccessibility helps maintain its wild charm. The best option is by car, as public transport does not go directly there. From Leiria or Lisbon, the journey takes approximately one hour to one hour and twenty minutes, using the A8 and then turning off towards Peniche or Ferrel. The last few kilometers to the beach are usually on dirt tracks or unpaved roads, so we recommend driving with caution.

Regarding parking, there is no organized parking lot. You will find informal spaces along the dirt tracks that provide access to the beach. It is essential to be respectful of the environment and not park on the dunes or vegetation. Although in the high season, especially in August, these spaces can fill up, the vast expanse of the beach usually absorbs visitors without feeling overcrowded. We advise arriving a bit early if you are looking for the best spots.

Regarding other facilities, Parking is informal. You will rarely find public showers or permanent toilets/WCs.
