We always recommend the flexibility offered by car, especially if you plan to explore the surroundings of the Algarve. The beach is located in the town of Porches, within the municipality of Lagoa, a few kilometers from Armação de Pêra, and is well signposted from the main EN125 road or the A22 motorway (Via do Infante).

By Car

If you are coming from Faro, the drive will take approximately 45-50 minutes, traveling west on the A22. From other Algarve locations such as Portimão or Albufeira, the travel time is even shorter. Once near Porches, you will see clear signs for 'Praia da Senhora da Rocha' or 'Capela da Senhora da Rocha'. There is limited parking at the top of the cliff, near the chapel, and another larger but also busy one, especially in high season, a bit lower down, with direct access to the beach. Our recommendation is to arrive early during the summer months to secure a good parking spot.

By Public Transport

Public transport in this area of the Algarve can be a bit less direct for reaching the beach precisely. There are bus lines connecting major cities like Faro, Albufeira, or Portimão with Porches or Armação de Pêra. However, from there, you will likely need to take a taxi or walk a considerable distance to the beach. For greater comfort and to make the most of your visit, the car remains our preferred option.
