By car

If we are coming from Faro Airport, the journey is approximately 70 kilometers and will take us about 45-50 minutes via the A22 motorway (Via do Infante), a modern and efficient toll road. Once we take the exit towards Portimão, signs for 'Portimão Marina' or 'Praia da Rocha' will guide us directly. The beach is located right next to the marina. There are paid parking options in the vicinity of the marina, which is a great advantage in such a busy area, although in high season it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot.

By public transport

If we prefer not to drive, public transport is a viable alternative. From Faro, we can take a train or a bus to Portimão station. The train journey is picturesque and allows us to enjoy the landscapes of the Algarve, with an approximate duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. Buses are also frequent and comfortable. Once at Portimão station, whether by train or bus, Praia da Marina de Portimão is about 2-3 kilometers away. We can opt for a taxi, a VTC service (like Uber or Bolt), or a local urban bus that takes us directly to the marina area or Praia da Rocha. Portimão's 'Vai e Vem' urban bus network is quite efficient and has stops close to the beach.
