Getting to Praia do Cabedelo de Figueira da Foz is straightforward.

By car

From Coimbra, the journey takes about 45-60 minutes via the A14. In Figueira da Foz, we cross the bridge over the Mondego to the south bank. There is ample and free parking nearby, very convenient even in high season if we arrive early.

By public transport

We can reach Figueira da Foz by train or bus. From the station, urban buses or taxis connect to Cabedelo. However, for greater freedom and to explore the surroundings, the car is our main recommendation.

The sand and water

The Praia do Cabedelo de Figueira da Foz captivated us with its sand and the Atlantic. It is a fine and golden sandy beach that stretches for kilometers, ideal for walking or playing. Its spaciousness avoids crowds. The type of ground is predominantly sand, perfect for all ages. The Atlantic waters are fresh and of great quality, with a Blue Flag. Although the ocean can be rough for surfing, there are calmer days for bathing. The water's transparency allows you to see the bottom. Here, the force of nature is felt in every wave, inviting us to connect with the ocean.

The Praia do Cabedelo de Figueira da Foz offers an excellent range of services and facilities. We have constant Lifeguard service in season, providing peace of mind. There are Showers and clean Toilets/WC. Several Chiringuitos and nearby Restaurants offer snacks and meals with sea views. It is possible to rent Sun Umbrellas and Sun Loungers. The Parking is spacious and easy to find. For athletes, there is Equipment Rental for surfing and schools, plus a Sports Zone. Although there are wooden walkways, it is not fully accessible. The beach does not allow dogs in the bathing area during the high season, according to Blue Flag regulations.

These shoulder seasons are ideal. The weather is pleasant, with sunny and mild days, but with fewer tourists. Perfect for surfers (better waves and fewer people), for relaxation and long walks, and for finding better rates. We really enjoyed the calm of September.

Winter (November to March)

The quietest time, with unpredictable weather. Ideal for winter landscape photography, solitary walks, and experienced surfers looking for spectacular waves.
