How to Get to Playa Panteón

Getting to Playa Panteón is relatively easy, especially if you are already in the Puerto Ángel area. If you're coming from Huatulco (the nearest airport with international flights) or from Puerto Escondido, you can take a shared taxi or a local bus to Pochutla, and from there another shared taxi or regular taxi to Puerto Ángel. Once in Puerto Ángel, the beach is accessible on foot from most of the town's accommodations, as it's within walking distance, perhaps 10-15 minutes from the center, or a short taxi ride for a few pesos.

From Huatulco

If your starting point is Bahías de Huatulco, you can take a private taxi (the most comfortable but more expensive option) or go to the bus station to take a second-class bus to Pochutla. From Pochutla, as mentioned, it's easy to find local transport to Puerto Ángel and then to Playa Panteón. The total journey from Huatulco can take between 1 and 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and the type of transport.

From Puerto Escondido

From Puerto Escondido, the route is similar: take a bus or shared taxi to Pochutla. The trip is a bit longer, around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Pochutla, the last leg to Puerto Ángel is quick and accessible. We recommend asking locals for the most efficient and economical transport options, as they usually know the best 'colectivos' or shared taxis.

The Sand and Water

When you step onto Playa Panteón, the first thing you'll notice is the softness of its sand. It's fine, golden sand, inviting you to walk barefoot and for children to build endless castles.
