How to Get to Playa Juanillo

Getting to Playa Juanillo is relatively straightforward, although we must consider that it is located within the private complex of Cap Cana, which adds a touch of exclusivity to the experience. Generally, our starting point will be Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), which is about 15-20 minutes by car from the entrance to Cap Cana. Once there, we will be asked for identification and the reason for our visit to access the complex.

Transportation Options

• Taxi or Private Transfer: This is the most comfortable and direct option from the airport or from any hotel in Punta Cana or Bávaro. Prices vary, but they offer the peace of mind of a worry-free trip.
• Rental Car: If we prefer to have the freedom to explore the area at our own pace, renting a car is an excellent idea. The roads are in good condition and the signage within Cap Cana is clear. Parking at Juanillo is ample and usually well-organized.
• Hotel Transportation: Many resorts inside and outside Cap Cana offer transportation services for their guests to visit Playa Juanillo, often as part of excursions or exclusive beach services. It is always advisable to check with our accommodation's reception.

The Sand and Water

The most distinctive and, in our opinion, the most attractive feature of Playa Juanillo is undoubtedly its sand and waters. The sand is of a dazzling white, so fine and soft it feels like talcum powder under our feet. Walking barefoot on it is a true pleasure, and its texture invites relaxation and simply enjoying contact with nature. This quality sets it apart from many other beaches in the Dominican Republic and elevates it to a higher level of comfort and beauty.

The waters, on the other hand, are of an intense turquoise color, crystal clear, and surprisingly calm. The shallow depth at the shore makes it a safe and perfect place for children to play, while adults can enjoy a relaxing swim without worrying about strong currents. The underwater visibility is excellent, allowing us to appreciate marine life in its splendor, even without snorkeling gear. It's a true natural aquarium that invites us to dive in and explore.
