How to Get to Playa Grande de Calella

Getting to Playa Grande de Calella is really simple, and that is one of its great advantages. The town of Calella is very well connected, making access easy whether we are coming from Barcelona city, other nearby towns, or even from abroad. We have tried several options and all are viable and comfortable.

By Car

If we choose the car, the C-32 highway is the fastest route from Barcelona, taking us directly to Calella in approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic. We can also use the N-II, a more picturesque road that runs along the coast, although it is usually slower. Once in Calella, the beach is easy to locate. Finding parking can be a challenge in high season, but there are paid parking options nearby and some blue zones. Our recommendation is to arrive early to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

The train is, without a doubt, one of the most relaxing ways to get there. The R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya connects Calella directly with Barcelona (Plaça Catalunya and Sants Estació) and other coastal towns. The journey is very pleasant, with sea views for much of the route, and Calella station is just a few minutes' walk from Playa Grande de Calella. Buses also offer connections from various points, being a useful alternative if our starting point is not on the train route.
