How to get to Playa Grande

Getting to Playa Grande is extremely easy, making it a very accessible option for all visitors to Lanzarote. If we're coming from Arrecife airport, the journey by car or taxi is just 10-15 minutes, allowing us to be enjoying the sea almost as soon as we land. The beach is located in the heart of Puerto del Carmen, one of the island's main tourist areas, so its location is unbeatable.

For those who prefer public transport, there are several bus lines (guaguas, as they're called here) that connect Puerto del Carmen with Arrecife and other important towns on the island, with stops very close to the beach. If we opt for a car, we'll find several parking areas nearby, although in high season it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot, so we recommend arriving early. Furthermore, the beach is easily accessible on foot from most hotels and apartments in Puerto del Carmen, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant walk along the seafront promenade before diving into the Atlantic.

The sand of Playa Grande is, without a doubt, one of its greatest attractions. Fine, soft, and of a golden hue that contrasts perfectly with the turquoise blue of the ocean, it invites us to walk barefoot and build sandcastles effortlessly.
