How to Get to Playa El Paraíso

Getting to Playa El Paraíso is a simple and pleasant adventure. If your starting point is outside the state, you will most likely land at the Villahermosa International Airport (Carlos Rovirosa Pérez), the capital of Tabasco. From Villahermosa, the beach is located approximately 80-90 kilometers to the east, a journey that by car takes about an hour and a half, depending on traffic.

We highly recommend renting a car in Villahermosa. This will give you the freedom to explore not only Playa El Paraíso, but also the fascinating surroundings and nearby towns. The road leading to the municipality of Paraíso and then to the beach is in good condition and easy to follow. There is clear signage to guide you. If you prefer not to drive, there are taxi or colectivo (shared van) options that can take you, although with less flexibility to stop and enjoy the scenery. The route itself is already an invitation to the lush Tabascan vegetation, with palm trees and mangroves lining the way.

The Sand and Water

When stepping onto Playa El Paraíso, the first thing we notice is the quality of its sand. It's a soft golden color, incredibly fine and pleasant underfoot, making it perfect for long barefoot walks or for children to play building sandcastles. The expanse of the beach is impressive; we can walk for miles and miles without feeling crowded, giving us an unparalleled sense of freedom and privacy.

• Umbrellas and Sunbeds: In various sections of the beach, it's possible to rent umbrellas and comfortable sunbeds for a modest cost. This allows us to spend hours in the sun with total comfort and protection.
• Showers and Bathrooms/WC: At strategic points, we found showers to rinse off sand and salt after a swim, as well as clean, well-maintained public bathrooms, an essential service for any beach day.
• Lifeguards: During the high season, weekends, and holiday periods, there is usually a presence of lifeguards, which adds an extra layer of safety, especially if we are traveling with children or elderly people.
• Parking: Along the coast, there are several parking areas, some free and others with a symbolic fee, making it easy to access the beach with our vehicle.
• Equipment Rental: Although not as widespread as in other destinations, in some areas you can find small stands offering rental of basic water sports equipment, such as paddle surf boards or kayaks.

Best Time to Visit

For us, the key to fully enjoying Playa El Paraíso lies in choosing the best time of year to visit. Based on our experience, we recommend planning your trip during the dry season, which generally runs from November to May.

• November to May: During these months, the weather in Tabasco is more pleasant. Temperatures are warm but not stifling, humidity is lower, and, most importantly, the chances of rain are significantly low. This ensures sunny days perfect for enjoying the beach, swimming, and exploring the surroundings without interruptions. The nights are also cooler and more pleasant.
• June to October: This is the rainy season in the region. While tropical rains are usually intense but short-lived, they can occur unexpectedly and affect our beach plans. Furthermore, humidity is much higher, which can be a bit uncomfortable for some. However, if
