How to Get to Playa des Pianc

Getting to Playa des Pianc is, in itself, part of the Cadaqués experience. Being so central, access is really simple and allows us to enjoy the charm of the town's cobblestone streets. If we come by car, we'll have to park in one of Cadaqués' public parking lots, as the center is pedestrian-only or has restricted access. From there, a pleasant walk of no more than ten minutes will take us directly to the shore of this beautiful cove. It's a walk we highly recommend, as it allows us to discover the unique architecture and bohemian corners of Cadaqués.

For those already in Cadaqués, Playa des Pianc is accessible on foot from any point along the promenade or the old town. Simply follow the coastline south from the center, passing by other small coves and the port. Signage is clear and the path is flat, facilitating access for people of all ages. There's no need to worry about steep slopes or complicated trails; it's a beach within everyone's reach.

The Sand and Water

Upon setting foot on Playa des Pianc, we'll immediately notice its peculiar composition. It's not the typical fine-sand beach, but rather a combination that gives it a unique character: the sand is mixed, with a predominance of small pebbles polished by the sea and some areas of coarser sand. This particularity makes its waters extraordinarily transparent, as the sand isn't easily stirred up, allowing us to enjoy exceptional visibility. We recommend bringing water shoes if you have sensitive feet, although many find the feel of the pebbles very pleasant.

The waters of Playa des Pianc are, without a doubt, its greatest attraction. They are calm, of a turquoise blue that invites swimming and relaxation. The cove is sheltered from the strongest winds, which guarantees minimal waves most of the time. The entry into the sea is gentle and shallow for the first few meters, making it ideal for children to play safely. We love diving into its waters and observing marine life with a snorkel mask; the clarity is such that we can easily see small fish and underwater rocks. It's a true pleasure for the senses.

For us, the best time to visit this cove and the town in general is during spring (late April, May, and early June) and autumn (September and October).

During these months, the weather is mild and pleasant, with perfect temperatures for enjoying the sun and swimming without the oppressive summer heat. Furthermore, the influx of tourists is considerably lower than in the peak of summer, which allows us to enjoy greater tranquility and the authentic essence of Cadaqués.
