How to Get to Playa del Varador

Getting to Playa del Varador is extremely easy, whether you're coming from Barcelona, from other points in the Maresme, or even from farther away. Its excellent connections make it accessible to everyone.

By Train (Rodalies R1)

The most comfortable and eco-friendly option, especially if you're coming from Barcelona or any town on the Maresme coast, is the train. The R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya has a stop at Mataró station, which is just a few meters from the promenade and, therefore, from Playa del Varador. Once you get off the train, you just have to cross the tracks via the underground passage and you'll practically be on the sand. The journey from Plaça de Catalunya in Barcelona usually takes about 35-40 minutes, also offering beautiful views of the coastline.

By Car

If you prefer the comfort of a car, Mataró is very well connected via the C-32 highway. You should take the exit for Mataró Centro or Mataró Oeste. Once in the city, follow the signs to the port or the beaches. However, keep in mind that, being an urban beach, parking in the immediate vicinity may be paid (blue zone) or in underground parking lots, especially during the high season. We always recommend arriving early to secure a good spot or, if possible, opting for public transport.

By Bus

Mataró has a network of urban buses that connect different points of the city with the promenade. If you are staying in a hotel or apartment further from the center, you can check the lines that will drop you off near the beach. Furthermore, there are interurban lines connecting Mataró with other nearby towns.
