How to Get to Playa del Chorrillo

Getting to Playa del Chorrillo is part of the adventure and, at the same time, a testament to its special character. Located right below the Balcón de Europa and nestled between El Salón and La Caletilla beaches, its access has a picturesque touch. We recommend several options to reach this idyllic spot:

On Foot from the Balcón de Europa

The most common and charming way to get there is via the promenade around the Balcón de Europa. We can descend to it from the access points leading to El Salón Beach or, alternatively, from the stairs that take us directly to La Caletilla. Once at either of these adjacent beaches, we can walk along the shore or on small paths between the rocks (with caution, especially at high tide) to the different coves that make up El Chorrillo. It's a short and pleasant walk, ideal for enjoying the views.

Parking and Transport

Being an urban and central beach, it does not have its own parking right on the sand. However, Nerja has several public car parks and regulated parking areas in the streets adjacent to the center. We advise you to look for parking near the Balcón de Europa or at the Municipal Parking on Plaza de España. From there, the walk to the beach is short and allows us to soak up the town's atmosphere. If you're coming by public transport, Nerja's urban bus lines have central stops that will leave you just a few minutes' walk away.

Accessibility

We must be honest: Playa del Chorrillo does not stand out for its total accessibility. Access to the coves involves descending stairs and, at times, walking on uneven or rocky terrain. This makes it less suitable for people with reduced mobility or baby strollers. If we're looking for a beach with ramps and walkways, we might need to opt for other options in Nerja like Burriana or El Playazo. However, for those who can overcome these small obstacles, the reward is an incomparable corner of peace.

The Sand and Water

When we step onto Playa del Chorrillo, we immediately notice its uniqueness. This calm and transparency are ideal for snorkeling, allowing us to observe the marine life hiding among the rocks and on the seabed. We love the feeling of floating in these waters, feeling the caress of the sun and the sea breeze.
