How to Get to Playa de Troulos

Getting to Playa de Troulos is relatively straightforward, which adds an extra point to its appeal. Located on the south coast of Skiathos, it's about 9 kilometers from the capital, Skiathos Town, and the main port. We recommend several options to reach this paradise:

By Bus

The bus service in Skiathos is excellent and very efficient. There is a regular line that runs along the south coast, connecting Skiathos Town with Koukounaries, passing by all the most popular Skiathos beaches. The bus stop for Troulos is number 18 (or sometimes 19, depending on the direction), and it's conveniently located just a few meters from the beach. Buses are frequent during the high season, with services every 15-20 minutes.

By Car or Motorbike

If you prefer the freedom to explore at your own pace, renting a car or motorbike is an excellent option. The road to Troulos is in good condition and the journey from town is short and pleasant, offering panoramic views of the island. There are parking areas available near the beach, although during July and August they can fill up quickly, so it's advisable to arrive early.

By Taxi or Water Taxi

For a more comfortable and direct option, taxis are readily available in Skiathos Town. The trip to Troulos is quick and reasonably priced. Another fun alternative, especially if you're staying in town or at another nearby beach, are the water taxis. These small boats offer connections between the main Skiathos beaches, providing a unique perspective of the coast from the sea.

The Sand and Water

The first thing that captivates us when stepping onto Playa de Troulos is the quality of its sand. It's a soft golden color, incredibly fine and pleasant to the touch, making it perfect for walking barefoot, building sandcastles, or simply lying down to enjoy the sun. The shoreline is wide and slopes gently into the sea, creating a generous space for all visitors.

But if the sand is a delight, the water is a true marvel. The waters of Troulos are famous for their transparency and bright turquoise hue. Thanks to the protection of the bay, they are usually very calm, almost waveless, making them an ideal place for swimming in complete safety, even for the little ones. The cleanliness of the water is exceptional, a key factor contributing to this Greek beach proudly flying its Blue Flag. We've spent hours floating in its waters, watching the small fish swimming near the shore, and we're always amazed by the clarity with which you can see the seabed.

Services and Facilities

One of the great advantages of Playa de Troulos is its excellent service infrastructure. It's not a wild beach, but a destination designed for visitor comfort, making it very attractive to a wide range of people. When we visit, we appreciate that everything is at hand:

• Sunbeds and umbrellas: Most of the beach is covered by rows of umbrellas and comfortable sunbeds that can be rented for a reasonable price. They are perfect for spending the whole day relaxing in the shade.
• Chiringuitos and restaurants: Along the beach and in its immediate surroundings, you'll find several chiringuitos and tavernas offering everything from refreshments and snacks to full meals. You can enjoy an iced coffee, a souvlaki, or a plate of fresh seafood with sea views. We always recommend trying the catch of the day.
• Showers and toilets/WC: There are shower facilities to rinse off the salt and sand after swimming, as well as clean and well-maintained toilets, which is essential for a comfortable stay.
• Lifeguard services: During the high season, the beach has lifeguard services, which increases safety for all swimmers, especially for families with children.
• Parking: As mentioned, there are parking options, making access easier if you arrive by private vehicle.
• Equipment rental: For water sports enthusiasts, there are companies renting equipment for activities like paddle surfing, kayaking, or jet skis. You can also find small boat rentals to explore nearby coves.
