How to Get to Playa de Torrenueva

Getting to Playa de Torrenueva is quite straightforward, which adds to its appeal. It is located in the heart of Torrenueva Costa, a coastal municipality in the province of Granada, perfectly connected to the main communication routes.

By Car

For us, the car is the most comfortable and flexible option to get to Playa de Torrenueva and explore its surroundings. If you are coming from Granada city, the journey is approximately 70 kilometers and is done mainly on the A-44 (Sierra Nevada-Tropical Coast Highway) towards Motril-Almuñécar. Once near Motril, take the exit towards Torrenueva Costa. The trip usually takes about 45-55 minutes, depending on traffic.

If your starting point is Malaga, you should take the A-7 (Mediterranean Highway) towards Almeria. The route is about 110 kilometers and will take you approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. When passing Salobreña, watch for signs to Torrenueva Costa. From Almeria, the route is also via the A-7, towards Malaga, and the journey is similar in time and distance.

Once in Torrenueva Costa, the beach is easily accessible. You will see signs and find several parking areas, both on nearby streets and in designated car parks, although in high season it can be a bit more challenging to find a spot right on the front line. We advise arriving early to secure a good spot.

By Bus

For those who prefer public transport, Torrenueva Costa has intercity bus service. From the Granada bus station, there are regular connections to Motril, and from Motril, you can take a local bus that will drop you off in Torrenueva Costa. Frequency and schedules vary by season, so we recommend checking the websites of transport companies (like ALSA) in advance. It's an economical and sustainable option, although it may take a little longer.

The Sand and Water
