How to Get to Playa de Son Serra de Marina

Getting to Playa de Son Serra de Marina is relatively straightforward, although it requires your own vehicle or a taxi, as public transport options are limited and don't go directly to the shore. We always recommend renting a car to explore Mallorca with total freedom, and this beach is an excellent example of why. From Palma, the journey takes approximately 45-50 minutes, following the Ma-13 motorway towards Inca/Alcúdia and then turning off towards Santa Margalida and finally Son Serra de Marina. It's a pleasant route, allowing us to appreciate the island's inland landscapes before reaching the coast.

If coming from Can Picafort or Artà, the distance is much shorter, just 10-15 minutes by car. Once we approach the small urban nucleus of Son Serra de Marina, we'll find several parking options. There are free parking areas, often on dirt tracks or unpaved lots, near the beach accesses and the chiringuitos. It's important to consider that, especially in high season and on weekends, these parking areas can fill up, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. From where we park, access to the beach is direct and without major difficulties, via sandy paths that guide us to the shore.

The Sand and Water

These establishments offer us the possibility to enjoy a good meal or a refreshing drink with sea views, and they usually have toilets/WCs for customers. It's important to remember that there are no public showers or rental of umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach, so if we need these items, we must bring them ourselves.
