By Car

If we choose to drive, the beach is easily accessible from the Ma-1 (Western Motorway). Taking the exit for Palmanova, we follow the signs to the first line of beach. There are parking areas on adjacent streets, although in high season it can be a bit tricky to find a free spot. However, there are paid parking lots nearby that offer a comfortable solution. We always recommend arriving early if you travel in the summer months to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, the TIB (Transport de les Illes Balears) bus line connects Palmanova and Calvià with Palma and other points on the island. Several lines have stops very close to Playa de Son Maties, making it accessible without the need for a private vehicle. It is an excellent option if you are staying in Palma or other coastal towns in the area. Checking the schedules and routes on the TIB website is key to planning your trip.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If you are staying in Palmanova or even in Magaluf, the beach is perfectly accessible on foot via the promenade that connects these towns. This promenade is also ideal for a pleasant bike ride, enjoying the sea views. We find that this is one of the best ways to appreciate the surroundings and local life.
