How to Get to Playa de Skala

From the capital, Argostoli, the journey takes approximately 45-50 minutes, following the main road that crosses the south of the island. There are clear signs that will guide you to Skala and the beach. Once there, you'll find parking available, both free and paid areas, especially near the restaurants and beach bars. We recommend arriving early in the high season to secure a good spot.

By Bus

For those who prefer public transport, there are bus services (KTEL Kefalonia) connecting Skala with Argostoli and other important towns on the island. Schedules vary depending on the season, with more frequent services in summer. The bus stop in Skala is conveniently located near the village center, just a few minutes' walk from the beach. It's an economical and stress-free option to reach this wonderful Playa de Skala.

On Foot

We would describe it as mixed sand, with grains that are not excessively fine, making it perfect for spreading out your towel without it sticking too much, and sometimes mixed with small pebbles polished by the sea. This combination gives it a very pleasant feel and a special shine under the sun.

But if the sand is attractive, the water is simply spectacular. The crystal-clear waters of Playa de Skala are its greatest jewel. With shades ranging from turquoise blue at the shore to a deeper blue as you go further out, the transparency is such that you can easily see the seabed.
