How to Get to Playa de Santa Marina

Getting to Playa de Santa Marina is surprisingly simple, making it a very accessible destination for everyone. If we come by car, the A-8 highway (Autovía del Cantábrico) is our best ally, with direct exits towards Ribadesella. Once in the municipality, the beach is perfectly signposted and forms an integral part of the urban fabric, so it's impossible to miss. We recommend leaving the car in one of the designated parking areas, especially during the summer months. It's true that in high season they may be paid and sometimes it's a bit tricky to find a spot if we don't get up early, but the convenience of having the car nearby more than makes up for it.

For those who prefer public transport, Ribadesella has a train station and bus stops connecting with the main Asturian cities and other regions. Once in the center of Ribadesella, a pleasant ten to fifteen-minute walk will take us directly to the beach, skirting the Sella estuary or crossing the bridge. The walk is, in itself, part of the experience, offering us beautiful views of the river and the town. Furthermore, in summer, there is usually a small urban bus service connecting the center with the beach area, making access even easier for those carrying beach chairs, coolers, or the energy of the little ones.
