Getting to Playa de Santa Cristina is surprisingly easy, which adds a plus to its already attractive offer. Its strategic location in Oleiros, a few kilometers from the center of A Coruña, allows for multiple access options, facilitating visits for both locals and tourists coming from further away.

By car

If we come by car, the AP-9 motorway is our best ally. We will take the exit towards Oleiros/Santa Cristina, and in a few minutes we will find ourselves near the beach. The signage is clear and will guide us without problems. Once there, the beach has extensive parking areas, both free and paid, especially on the adjacent streets and the promenade. We always recommend arriving early during the summer months to secure a good spot, as it is a very popular beach.

By public transport

For those who prefer public transport, the connection from A Coruña is excellent. Several urban and intercity bus lines (such as lines 1A, 1B or the Alsa line connecting A Coruña with Oleiros and its beaches) have stops very close to the beach, leaving us just meters from the sand. It's a comfortable and ecological option, ideal for not worrying about parking and enjoying the scenery during the journey. Furthermore, the proximity to A Coruña Airport (Alvedro) makes it an accessible destination even for those arriving by plane, with taxis and car rental services available.

Furthermore, the beach boasts full accessibility, including wooden walkways that facilitate access to the sand for people with reduced mobility, and sometimes, even amphibious chairs and support staff during the high season. We applaud this type of initiative that makes Santa Cristina an inclusive beach for everyone.

Safety and leisure

Safety is a priority, therefore, the lifeguard service is active throughout the bathing season, with surveillance posts distributed along the beach and qualified personnel to attend to any eventuality. For leisure, the offer is varied: we can rent umbrellas and sun loungers so we don't have to carry our own, and for the little ones, there is a children's play area with games to keep them entertained. Along the promenade, we will find chiringuitos and restaurants where we can enjoy a refreshment, an ice cream, or a good meal with sea views.
