How to Get to Playa de Sant Ana

Getting to Playa de Sant Ana is relatively straightforward, although it requires some knowledge of the area, as it's not as extensive as Blanes' main beaches. If we come by car, Blanes is very well connected by road. From Girona, we can take the C-65 or the AP-7 and then the C-35. Once in the center of Blanes, the beach is located south of the port, right at the foot of the hill where Sant Joan Castle stands.

We recommend parking in one of the public parking lots or parking areas near the port or Blanes center, as direct car access to the cove is limited and spaces are scarce. From there, we can take a pleasant 5-10 minute walk, enjoying the views of the port and the promenade. For those who prefer public transport, various Blanes urban bus lines have stops near the port, making access to this wonderful Blanes beach even easier.

The Sand and Water

One of the aspects that most catches our attention at Playa de Sant Ana is its particular composition. Here, the sand is of mixed type, meaning we'll find a mixture of coarse sand and small stones or pebbles. This characteristic gives it a unique feel and a very natural appearance, different from the fine, uniform sands of other beaches. Although it may be a bit less comfortable for lying directly on, we always advise bringing a good mat or thick towel, or even better, renting a sunbed to fully enjoy it.

As for the water, it is undoubtedly one of its greatest attractions. The waters of Playa de Sant Ana are exceptionally clean and crystal clear, with turquoise and emerald tones that invite a swim. Being sheltered by rock formations and the port, the waves are usually very gentle, making it an ideal place for swimming and relaxing without worries. The water's transparency allows us to easily see the seabed, making this cove a small paradise for snorkeling and underwater exploration enthusiasts, even in its shallower areas.

• Parking: As mentioned before, parking is in areas near the port, which facilitates pedestrian access to the beach.

• Summer (June to September): This is undoubtedly the high season. During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, ideal for enjoying swimming and sun. However, it's also when the beach receives the most visitors, so it can be more crowded, especially in July and August. Services are in full operation and the atmosphere is vibrant. If we're looking for animation and heat, summer is our choice.
• Spring (April and May) and Autumn (October): For us, these are the golden seasons. Temperatures are pleasant, the sun still warms, and the number of tourists is significantly lower. We can enjoy the beach with much greater tranquility, the waters are still suitable for swimming (especially in May and October, if we're brave) and the landscapes look spectacular with a different light.
