How to Get to Playa de Sancti Petri

Getting to Playa de Sancti Petri is relatively straightforward, whether we come by private car or use public transport. Its strategic location in Chiclana de la Frontera makes it accessible from various points in the province of Cádiz and beyond.

By Car

If we travel by car, which is the option most visitors choose for comfort and flexibility, the main route from Cádiz city or Jerez de la Frontera is via the A-48 motorway. Once we take the exit towards Chiclana de la Frontera, we follow the signs to the Sancti Petri or Novo Sancti Petri area. The beach is well signposted and we won't have any problems finding it. It's important to consider that, during the summer months, especially in July and August, the access roads can experience some traffic, so we recommend leaving with plenty of time, especially if we plan to arrive mid-morning.

Parking

Regarding parking, Playa de Sancti Petri has several areas to park our vehicle. There are public car parks, some of which are paid during the high season, and also free parking areas, although these tend to fill up quickly. Our recommendation is to arrive early to secure a good spot, especially if we visit the beach on a weekend or in the middle of summer. The area around the Sancti Petri marina also offers parking options, and from there we can take a pleasant walk to the beach.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, Chiclana de la Frontera has a network of urban buses that connect the town center with the main beaches, including Sancti Petri. The frequency of services usually increases during the summer season. From the Chiclana bus station, we can take a bus that will drop us off a short distance from the sand. If we are coming from other cities in the province of Cádiz, we will first need to get to Chiclana and then change buses.

Pedestrian and Bicycle Access

Furthermore, the area has promenades and bike lanes that facilitate pedestrian and bicycle access from nearby residential areas and hotels, such as those in Novo Sancti Petri. It's an excellent option to enjoy the scenery and stay active before taking a dip.
