Comino is a practically uninhabited island and free of cars, which already tells us we are facing a destination of pure nature. The first step is to get to Comino, which is done exclusively by sea.

From Malta or Gozo

We recommend taking a ferry or tourist boat from Cirkewwa, at the northern tip of Malta, or from Mgarr, in Gozo. Several companies offer this service regularly, especially during the summer months. The journey is relatively short and offers spectacular views of the Maltese archipelago. Once on Comino, most boats dock near the famous Blue Lagoon, which is within walking distance of San Niklaw Bay. To get to our beach, we can opt for a pleasant 15-20 minute walk following the coastal paths, or if we are staying at the Comino Greentop Resort (formerly Comino Hotel), they may have an internal transport service.

Mobility on Comino

It is essential to remember that Comino is a pristine island. There is no public transport or taxis. Mobility is reduced to walking on the paths or, in some cases, to the resort's shuttle services. The Sand and Water

Being adjacent to the Comino Greentop Resort, most of the amenities we find are associated with this establishment, giving it an air of exclusivity and comfort without losing its natural essence.

We have noticed that the resort facilitates the beach experience for its guests and visitors. We can find umbrellas and sunbeds available for rent, allowing us to enjoy the Maltese sun with maximum comfort and shade when we need it. There is also usually a small chiringuito or beach bar operated by the resort, where we can refresh ourselves with cold drinks or enjoy a light snack without straying too far from the shore. During the high season, it is common for there to be lifeguards monitoring the bay, which adds an extra layer of safety, especially if we are traveling with children.

Regarding parking, since Comino is a car-free island, the concept of public parking does not exist. However, if we are staying at the resort, we will have parking options at the departure port in Malta or Gozo, and then the transfer to the island. It is important to manage these logistics in advance. For more basic needs like showers or toilets, these are usually available within the resort's facilities for its clients.
