How to Get to Playa de Sakarun

Getting to Playa de Sakarun is part of the adventure and offers us the opportunity to explore the beautiful island of Dugi Otok. Being an island, the main journey is by ferry from the city of Zadar, which adds a special charm to the experience and prepares us for the disconnection that awaits.

From Zadar by Ferry

The most common starting point for visiting Sakarun is the vibrant city of Zadar. From Zadar port, several ferry and catamaran lines operate, connecting to Dugi Otok. The main routes are:

• Ferry to Brbinj: This is the most popular option if we are traveling by car. The ferries are operated by Jadrolinija and allow us to take our vehicle, which is highly recommended for exploring the island at our own pace. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
• Catamaran to Sali or Bozava: If we are traveling without a car, we can opt for a faster catamaran that will drop us off in Sali (in the south of the island) or Bozava (closer to Sakarun, in the north). From Bozava, the beach is only about 10-15 minutes away by car or local bus.
