How to Get to Playa de Sada

Getting to Playa de Sada is relatively easy, as the municipality is well-connected and the beach is integrated into the urban center. For greater comfort, we always recommend a private car, but there are also very efficient public transport options.

By Car

If we are coming from A Coruña city, the journey takes approximately 20-25 minutes. The most common route is to take the AC-12 towards Ferrol and then turn off onto the AC-183 or AC-163 towards Sada. From Betanzos, the trip is even shorter, about 10-15 minutes via the AC-163. The advantage of arriving by car is flexibility, and once in Sada, you will find several parking areas near the promenade and the beach, some of them free, although they can fill up quickly during high season. Our advice is to arrive early if you visit the beach in the middle of summer.

By Bus

For those who prefer public transport, there are regular bus lines connecting Sada with A Coruña and other nearby towns like Betanzos. The company Arriva (formerly Cal Pita) operates these routes, with stops in the center of Sada, a short walk from the beach. It's a comfortable and economical option, especially if you don't want to worry about parking.

The Sand and Water

One of the aspects we like most about Playa de Sada is, without a doubt, the quality of its sand and the serenity of its waters. The sand is fine and of a soft golden color, very pleasant to the touch and perfect for walking barefoot, building sandcastles, or simply lying down to sunbathe. It's clean and well-maintained sand, a characteristic that has earned it the Blue Flag distinction on numerous occasions, a seal of environmental quality that gives us great confidence.

The waters of Playa de Sada are, in general, very calm. Being inside the Betanzos Estuary, the beach is protected from the large waves of the open Atlantic, making it an exceptionally safe place for swimming, even for the little ones. The depth is gradual, allowing children to splash safely at the shore. The water temperature, as is usual on the beaches of A Coruña, is cool but very inviting during the summer months, offering a refreshing relief under the Galician sun. • Full Accessibility: A strong point of Playa de Sada. It has access ramps for people with reduced mobility and, on occasion, offers amphibious chairs and bathing assistance, allowing everyone to enjoy the sea without barriers.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: Along the promenade and in the vicinity of the beach, you will find several chiringuitos and restaurants where you can have a cool drink, a snack, or enjoy a full meal with sea views. They are perfect for replenishing your energy.
• Sun Umbrellas and Sun Loungers: Although we can always bring our own, the beach usually offers the possibility of renting sun umbrellas and sun loungers, which facilitates comfort and rest.
