How to get to Playa de s'Abanell

Getting to Playa de s'Abanell is relatively easy, given its strategic location and proximity to the center of Blanes. We always value ease of access, and in this case, it is excellent.

By car

If you're coming by car, the beach is well signposted from the entrance to Blanes. From the AP-7 motorway, take exit 9 (Lloret de Mar, Blanes, Malgrat de Mar) and follow the signs. Once in Blanes, you'll find several parking areas, both paid and some free ones a bit further away. Given the crowds, especially in high season, we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. There are underground car parks and street parking in the streets adjacent to the beach.

By public transport

Blanes has a train station (R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya) that connects it directly with Barcelona and other coastal towns. From the station, you can take a local bus that will drop you off very close to Playa de s'Abanell. There are also intercity bus lines linking Blanes with other towns on the Costa Brava and the interior of Girona.

On foot

If you are staying in Blanes, especially in the area closer to the center or the promenade, getting to the beach on foot is a pleasant walk. The access is flat and comfortable, ideal for a morning or evening stroll. We really enjoy the walk along the promenade, which offers spectacular views and a very lively atmosphere.

The sand and the water

The most distinctive feature of Playa de s'Abanell is its sand. We describe it as fine-grained, golden-colored sand, very pleasant to the touch and perfect for building sandcastles or simply relaxing. Unlike other beaches in Girona that may have pebbles or coarser sand, here you'll find a soft surface that invites you to walk barefoot for kilometers. It's ideal for children, who can play and run without worrying about stones.

As for the water, s'Abanell's waters are generally calm and clean, with a gradual entry that makes them very safe for swimming. This is a major plus, especially if you're traveling with little ones. The transparency of the water allows you to see the sandy bottom, which contributes to the feeling of cleanliness and well-being. Thanks to its orientation and currents, the water usually stays cool and crystal clear, perfect for a refreshing dip on the hottest summer days. The presence of the Blue Flag is a clear indicator of the excellent quality of its waters and services.

• Parking: As mentioned before, there are several parking options nearby, both paid and free.
• Full Accessibility: The beach has wooden walkways that facilitate access to the sand for people with reduced mobility, as well as amphibious chairs and assistance staff at specific points, which is a major plus for inclusion.
• Children's Area and Sports Zone: There are play areas for the little ones and zones set up for beach sports like volleyball, making it a very attractive option for everyone.
• Equipment rental: You can rent water skates, kayaks and other equipment to enjoy water activities.
