How to Get to Playa de Rodiles

Getting to Playa de Rodiles is relatively straightforward, making it an accessible destination for many. The main access route is via the AS-256 road, which branches off from the Cantabrian motorway (A-8). If you are coming from Oviedo or Gijón, you should take the A-8 towards Santander and exit at the sign for Villaviciosa. Once in Villaviciosa, follow the signs that will lead you directly to the beach. The journey is beautiful, winding through the lush Asturian vegetation and offering occasional glimpses of the estuary.

Access by Car

The car is, by far, the most comfortable means of transport to reach Playa de Rodiles. The beach has extensive parking areas, both free and paid during the high season, which greatly facilitates parking. It is important to consider that during the summer months and on good weather weekends, these parking lots can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. From the parking lot, access to the sand is very easy, via wooden walkways that protect the dune system.

Public Transport

Although public transport is an option, it is more limited. There are bus lines connecting Villaviciosa with some nearby points, but they do not go directly to the beach. This means that if you opt for the bus, you will probably have to take a taxi from Villaviciosa or enjoy a considerable walk. Our recommendation is always the car, for the flexibility it offers to explore not only the beach but also the charming surroundings of Villaviciosa.
