If you're coming by car, the southern highway (TF-1) is your best ally. Take the exit towards Candelaria and follow the signs. Don't worry about parking; the area has a fairly large and free public parking lot right next to the beach and the promenade, although during high season or weekends, as expected, it can be busier. Still, there are always options on the surrounding streets.

If you prefer public transport, Candelaria is very well connected to Santa Cruz de Tenerife and other important towns by bus lines (guaguas). Once in the center of Candelaria, the beach is a short walk away. The bus station is just a few minutes on foot, making getting there without a private vehicle a perfectly viable and ecological alternative. It's one of the advantages of choosing such a central and well-connected Candelaria beach.

The Sand and Water

Here you won't find the typical golden sand from other latitudes, but rather sand of a dark, almost black hue that shines under the sun. It's true that volcanic sand retains more heat, so we recommend wearing suitable footwear if you don't want to feel the warm 'hug' of the ground.

Being protected by breakwaters, currents are minimal and the waves are usually gentle, making it ideal for swimming, especially for children and the elderly.
