How to Get to Playa de Psili Ammos

Getting to Playa de Psili Ammos is relatively straightforward, which contributes to its popularity. It is located approximately 10 kilometers west of Pythagoreio and about 25 kilometers from Samos Town (Vathy), the island's capital. We recommend renting a car or a motorbike, as it gives us the freedom to explore the island at our own pace and access the beach without relying on fixed schedules. The road is well-signposted and the journey offers picturesque views of the Samian landscape.

• Rental car or motorbike: This is the most flexible option. Parking is available near the beach, although it can fill up during the high season.
• Bus: During the summer months, there are bus services connecting Psili Ammos with Pythagoreio and Samos Town. However, schedules can be limited, so it's always advisable to check them in advance.
• Taxi: Another comfortable option, especially if we're traveling in a group, although it tends to be more expensive.

The Sand and the Water

The most distinctive feature of Playa de Psili Ammos is, without a doubt, its sand. It is truly fine, soft, and of a golden color that shines under the Aegean sun. • Chiringuitos and Restaurants: Several chiringuitos and small tavernas line the back of the beach. Here we can enjoy cold drinks, coffees, ice creams, and, of course, delicious Greek dishes and fresh seafood. It's the perfect place for a relaxed lunch with sea views.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: After a refreshing swim, it's always nice to be able to rinse off the salt. The beach has public showers, as well as clean and well-maintained toilet facilities, a detail we always appreciate.
• Lifeguards: During the high season, the beach is monitored by lifeguards, which adds an extra layer of safety for everyone, especially for families with children.
• Parking: There are designated parking areas, making arrival easy if we've chosen to rent a vehicle. Although it can be a bit busier in high season, we generally find a spot.
