How to Get to Playa de Portocelo

Getting to Playa de Portocelo is quite straightforward, given its strategic location and proximity to the urban center of Marín and the city of Pontevedra. We always recommend planning the journey a little to enjoy it to the fullest from the first moment.

By Car

If we're coming from Pontevedra, the journey is very short and direct. We just need to take the PO-11 road towards Marín. Once we approach the center of Marín, the beach is well signposted. The estimated time is only 10-15 minutes. From other Galician towns, like Vigo or Santiago de Compostela, the AP-9 motorway will quickly connect us with Pontevedra, from where we'll follow the aforementioned directions. The advantage of coming by car is flexibility and the possibility to explore the surroundings easily.

Regarding parking, Playa de Portocelo has parking areas in its vicinity, which is a great advantage, especially in high season. Although it can fill up, there are always options on adjacent streets or in the center of Marín itself, from where a short walk takes us directly to the sand. We always advise arriving early if the visit is in the middle of summer to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

From Pontevedra, there are regular bus lines connecting with Marín. Once in the center of Marín, the beach is within a distance that can be easily covered on foot, enjoying a pleasant walk along the promenade. It's a comfortable and economical option if we don't want to worry about parking. The bus stops are usually well located and frequencies are reasonable during the summer season.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For those who enjoy exercise and contact with nature, Playa de Portocelo is accessible on foot or by bicycle from the center of Marín.
