How to Get to Playa de Platys Gialos

Getting to Playa de Platys Gialos is surprisingly simple, given its popularity and excellent location on the south coast of Mykonos, just 4-5 kilometers from Mykonos Town (Chora). We always value accessibility, and in this case, Platys Gialos exceeds expectations.

By Bus

The most common and economical way to get there is by bus. From the Fabrika bus station in Mykonos Town, buses depart very frequently, especially during the high season. The journey is short, about 15-20 minutes, and will drop you off right at the entrance to the beach. It is a reliable and efficient service that we recommend to avoid the stress of parking.

By Taxi or Private Vehicle

If you prefer comfort and privacy, a taxi from Mykonos Town will take you to the beach in about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Prices are reasonable, although they can go up a bit in high season. If you rent a car or scooter, the road is well signposted and access is easy. However, keep in mind that parking, although available, can be limited and paid, especially in July and August. We always advise arriving early if you choose this option.

By 'Sea Bus' or Water Taxi

A very fun and picturesque option is to arrive by 'Sea Bus' or water taxi from other nearby beaches or even from the old port of Mykonos. Platys Gialos is a central point for these water taxis that connect the southern beaches, such as Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, and Elia. Practically the entire beach is covered by these amenities, managed by the various hotels and chiringuitos right on the beach. You can rent a pair of sunbeds with an umbrella for the day, which ensures a comfortable place to relax. It is advisable to arrive early in the high season if you want to choose the best spot.

Gastronomy Right on the Beach

The gastronomic offer is exceptional. There are numerous restaurants and chiringuitos lining the sand, offering everything from a simple coffee or a refreshing cocktail to elaborate dishes of Greek and international cuisine.
