How to Get to Playa de Parasporos

Getting to Playa de Parasporos is surprisingly simple, given its proximity to Parikia, the capital and main port of Paros. This makes it a very convenient option for those staying in the city or arriving on the island by ferry and wishing to start their beach exploration without long journeys. We always value ease of access, and Parasporos fulfills this requirement admirably.

From Parikia, we have several options to reach this beautiful Paros beach:

• By bus: There is a local bus service connecting Parikia with nearby beaches, including Parasporos. It's an economical and reliable option, especially during high season. The stops are usually well-signposted and schedules are frequent, although we always recommend checking the most recent ones upon arrival on the island.
• By taxi: For those who prefer comfort and speed, a taxi from Parikia will take us to Parasporos in just 5-10 minutes. It's an excellent option if we are traveling with beach gear or simply want to avoid bus waits.
• Car or scooter rental: Without a doubt, the most flexible way to explore Paros and its Paros beaches is by renting our own vehicle. With a car or scooter, we will have the freedom to reach Parasporos at our own pace and explore the surroundings at our leisure. The road to the beach is in good condition and has clear signage. Furthermore, Playa de Parasporos has a Parking area, which greatly facilitates the visit.
• On foot or by bicycle: For the more adventurous or those staying in the immediate vicinity of Parikia, it is possible to reach Parasporos on foot or by bicycle. The distance is approximately 3-4 kilometers, which can be a pleasant coastal walk if the weather permits. However, in the height of summer with the scorching sun, it might not be the most recommended option.

The Sand and Water

We found no annoying rocks in the main swimming area, ensuring a comfortable and safe entry into the sea. This feature is especially appreciated by families, as it allows children to run and play with complete freedom and without worry.

But if the sand is a strong point, the water is simply spectacular. The waters of Playa de Parasporos are of astonishing clarity, with hues ranging from translucent aquamarine at the shore to a deeper blue as we venture further out. Underwater visibility is excellent, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling, even for beginners, as we can observe small fish and marine life without needing great depths.

Besides its clarity, the sea at Parasporos is notably calm. The beach is situated in a sheltered bay, which protects it from the prevailing winds of the Aegean, the famous Meltemi, which can sometimes make other Paros beaches less pleasant. Here, the waves are gentle and the water remains calm most of the time, creating a safe and relaxing environment for swimming and floating.
