How to Get to Playa de Palombina

Getting to Playa de Palombina is really simple, one of its great advantages. Being located right in the urban center of Llanes, accessibility is excellent. If we come by car from the A-8 highway, we'll take the exit towards Llanes and follow the signs to the center. Once in the town, the beach is perfectly signposted and easy to locate, right next to the Paseo de San Pedro and the old town.

Regarding parking, being an urban beach, we have various options. During the summer months, it can be a bit more difficult to find free space nearby, but there are regulated parking zones (ORA) and paid parking lots in the vicinity that facilitate arrival. We always recommend arriving early in high season to secure a good spot. If we prefer public transport, the Llanes train and bus station is within walking distance of the beach, making it accessible to everyone without the need for a private vehicle. Furthermore, the promenade connects the beach with other points of interest in the town, allowing for a pleasant walk on foot from our accommodation in Llanes.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Palombina seduces us with a perfect combination of sand and water that makes it irresistible. Its sand is fine and of a beautiful golden hue, very pleasant to the touch and perfect for laying out a towel, building sandcastles with the little ones, or simply walking barefoot feeling the softness under our feet. It's clean and well-maintained sand, a reflection of the beach's commitment to quality and the environment, which has earned it the prestigious Blue Flag on numerous occasions.

The waters of Palombina are, without a doubt, one of its greatest attractions. They are calm waters of surprising clarity, with a gentle swell that makes them a safe and pleasant place for bathing, even for children and those who are not comfortable with strong currents. The water quality is excellent, allowing us to enjoy a refreshing dip with complete confidence. Additionally, the seabed is predominantly sandy, which facilitates entry into the water and makes it even more comfortable. At low tide, you can walk to the small islet known as Castro de Palombina, a distinctive feature that adds a touch of adventure and exploration to the beach experience. This islet is a fantastic place to observe marine life in the small pools that form and to enjoy a different perspective of the Llanes coast.
