How to Get to Playa de Oriñón

Getting to Playa de Oriñón is relatively straightforward, making it even more attractive for a getaway. We usually access it from the A-8 motorway (Autovía del Cantábrico), taking exit 169 towards Islares/Oriñón. Once we leave the motorway, we follow the signs to Oriñón, and in a few minutes, we'll find this wonderful sandy beach.

Access by Car

For those traveling by car, the N-634 is also an option, although it can be somewhat slower due to sections of conventional road. The advantage of going by car is the flexibility it offers us to explore the surroundings. Once in the village of Oriñón, access to the beach is direct and well signposted.

Parking

Regarding parking, Playa de Oriñón has designated areas, especially during the high season. We can find space near the beach itself, which is a great convenience, especially if we're traveling with children or a lot of luggage. It's true that on days with higher attendance, it can be a bit more challenging to find a spot, but with a little patience, we always manage to park without major issues. We recommend arriving early in the peak of summer to secure a good spot.

Public Transport

Although the car is the most comfortable option, there are also some bus lines connecting Castro Urdiales with Oriñón, albeit with less frequency. It's always advisable to check updated schedules if we plan to use public transport, as they can vary depending on the season.

• Showers and Toilets/WC: After a refreshing swim in the sea, it's always nice to be able to rinse off the salt and sand. The showers and public toilets are a service we greatly appreciate and that contributes to the comfort of the beach day.
• Parking: As we already mentioned, the presence of nearby parking areas is a great advantage, avoiding long walks with beach gear.
