How to Get to Playa de Nea Moudania

By Plane

The nearest airport and main international entry point is Thessaloniki 'Macedonia' International Airport (SKG). From there, Nea Moudania is about 50-60 kilometers to the south, a journey that generally takes between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on traffic. We usually rent a car directly at the airport to have total freedom of movement, not only to get to the beach but also to explore the surroundings at our own pace.

By Car

If you decide to rent a car, the route from Thessaloniki is direct and well-signposted. You will take the Egnatia Odos highway (A2) and then the E65 heading south towards Chalkidiki. Nea Moudania is one of the first large towns you will find on the peninsula. Parking near the beach and the harbor is generally plentiful, although it can be busier during the peak summer months. We always advise arriving early to secure a good spot, especially if you plan to spend the whole day.

By Bus

For those who prefer public transport, there are regular bus services (KTEL Halkidikis) connecting Thessaloniki with Nea Moudania. The buses are comfortable and reliable, with several departures per day from the central bus station in Thessaloniki. The bus journey is an economical option and allows you to relax and enjoy the scenery. Once in Nea Moudania, the bus station is a short walk from the beach, making access easy without the need for additional transport. We have used it on occasion and the experience was very positive.
