How to Get to Playa de Narta

Getting to Playa de Narta is relatively straightforward, especially if you are in the city of Vlora. We recommend traveling by car, as it offers the most flexibility to explore not only the beach but also its surroundings. From the center of Vlora, the beach is about 10-15 kilometers to the north. The route is quite direct and well-signposted, although the secondary roads towards the beach can be somewhat rustic in some sections. The drive usually takes between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on traffic and the exact point on the beach you want to reach.

Transportation Options

• Private or rental car: Undoubtedly the most comfortable option. It allows total freedom to come and go at your own pace and explore other Vlora beaches and nearby attractions. There are parking areas, often informal, along the beach, especially near the 'chiringuitos' (beach bars).
• Taxi: From Vlora, a taxi is a viable and relatively economical option. Be sure to agree on the price before starting the trip.
• Public transport: Although less frequent, there may be local buses or minivans (known as 'furgon') connecting Vlora with the villages near the Narta Lagoon. However, they might drop you off some distance from the beach, requiring a walk.

The water temperature is generally warm during the summer months, inviting long swims and full enjoyment of the sea. We enjoyed the feeling of tranquility conveyed by these waters, far from the bustle of more developed coasts. The proximity to the Narta Lagoon does not negatively affect the quality of the beach water; in fact, it adds a unique natural and scenic element.

While Playa de Narta stands out for its natural and less urbanized atmosphere, this doesn't mean it lacks basic services. We found that it offers the essentials for enjoying a comfortable, no-frills beach day. The infrastructure is more geared towards functionality than luxury, which fits perfectly with its wild and relaxed spirit.

• Chiringuitos (Beach Bars): During the season, especially in the more crowded areas, you'll find several 'chiringuitos' where you can buy refreshing drinks, ice cream, and some fast food or simple local dishes. They are ideal places to take shelter from the sun and enjoy a snack.
• Sunbeds and Umbrellas: Most 'chiringuitos' offer sunbed and umbrella rental service for a reasonable price. This is very convenient for those who don't want to carry their own beach gear.
