How to Get to Playa de Mehdia

Getting to Playa de Mehdia is relatively straightforward, especially if we are in Kenitra or its surroundings. The beach is located about 10-15 kilometers west of Kenitra city center, making it very accessible for a day trip or a longer stay. We always recommend planning transportation in advance, especially if traveling during peak season, to avoid any setbacks.

From Kenitra City

• By Car: This is the most comfortable and flexible option. From the center of Kenitra, we can take the P4206 road heading west. The journey usually takes between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on traffic. There are several parking areas near the beach, some paid and others free, although the latter can fill up quickly on the busiest days. The freedom of having our own vehicle allows us to explore the surroundings more easily.
• By Taxi: 'Grand taxis' are a popular and economical option to get to the beach from Kenitra. We can find them at the main taxi stands in the city or near the train station. It's advisable to negotiate the price before starting the trip, although they usually have fixed rates for this route. Sharing a taxi with other passengers is a common practice and reduces the individual cost.
• By Urban Bus: There are public bus lines connecting Kenitra with Mehdia, although they can be a bit slower and less direct than a taxi. It's a very economical option for those traveling on a tight budget. The stops are usually well signposted and the schedules are regular during the day.

From Other Cities

If we are coming from cities like Rabat or Casablanca, the most practical way is to first get to Kenitra by train (ONCF) or bus (CTM, Supratours), and from there take one of the options mentioned above. The Moroccan rail network is efficient and comfortable, making the connection to Kenitra very smooth.
