How to Get to Playa de Martil

Getting to Playa de Martil is relatively easy, especially if we are in the city of Tetuán. Given its popularity and proximity to the 'White Dove', there are various transportation options that will allow us to access this beautiful coastal destination. The beach is located about 10-15 kilometers east of Tetuán, making it a very accessible day trip.

By Car

If we have our own vehicle or a rental, the journey from Tetuán is short and direct. We simply need to take the P4701 road heading east. The signage is clear and the road is well-paved, ensuring a comfortable trip of approximately 15-20 minutes. Once in Martil, we will find several parking areas, both paid and free, especially near the promenade and the streets adjacent to the beach. During the high season, it can be a bit more difficult to find parking right on the front line, so we recommend arriving early or being prepared to walk a few meters.

By Taxi

Taxis are one of the most comfortable and common ways to get to Playa de Martil from Tetuán. The 'petits taxis' (small light blue taxis) are ideal for trips within the city and its surroundings. We can hail one from any point in Tetuán, and the price is usually quite reasonable, although it's advisable to agree on the fare with the driver before starting the trip to avoid surprises. The 'grands taxis' (large taxis, usually cream or white) are also an option, especially if we are traveling in a group or with a lot of luggage, and can be a good alternative if we're looking for a bit more space and comfort.

By Bus

For those who prefer public transport, there are also buses connecting Tetuán with Martil. Several local bus lines cover this route regularly, especially during the summer months. The stops are usually well located in the center of Tetuán and will drop us off at strategic points in Martil, a short distance from the beach. It's a very economical option, although it can be a bit slower and less flexible in terms of schedules than a taxi or private car.

The Sand and Water
