How to Get to Playa de Lozenets

Getting to Playa de Lozenets is a simple and pleasant part of the adventure, as Bulgaria's tourist infrastructure on the Black Sea coast has improved considerably. For most international travelers, the main entry point will be Burgas Airport (BOJ). This airport is well connected to many European cities, especially during the peak summer season, with charter and regular flights.

From Burgas Airport

Once we land in Burgas, we have several options to get to Lozenets, which is located approximately 60-70 kilometers to the south:

• Rental car: This is, without a doubt, the option we most recommend if we wish to explore the region at our own pace. There are several car rental agencies at the airport. The journey takes about an hour to an hour and a quarter, and the E87 coastal road is scenic and in good condition. It allows us to stop at viewpoints or small coves if we wish.
• Taxi: We find taxis available at the airport terminal. It's advisable to negotiate the price before starting the trip or make sure the taximeter is running. The cost can vary, but it's a comfortable option, especially if we're traveling with a lot of luggage or in a group.
• Bus: For travelers on a tighter budget, the bus is a viable alternative. We'll need to take a bus from the airport to the central bus station in Burgas, and from there, another regular bus to Lozenets or Tsarevo (which is very close to Lozenets and has frequent connections). The schedules are reliable, but the journey will be longer and involve transfers.

From Other Cities in Bulgaria

If we are already in Bulgaria, for example, visiting the capital, Sofia, we can get to Lozenets in the following ways:

• Car: The drive from Sofia to Lozenets is approximately 4-5 hours, covering about 400 kilometers. The route passes through well-maintained highways and national roads, offering us the opportunity to see the country's interior.
• Bus: There are regular bus services from Sofia's central bus station to Burgas, and then the connection to Lozenets. It's an economical, though slower, option.
