How to Get to Playa de Little Banana (Nudista)
Getting to Playa de Little Banana (Nudista) is part of the adventure and allows us to appreciate the beauty of Skiathos. The most common way to access it is via its larger sister, the famous Big Banana Beach, which is located right next door.
By Bus
From Skiathos Town, the island's capital, we can take the local bus that runs along the south coast. We must get off at the last stop, number 26, which is Koukounaries. From there, a short walk will first take us to Big Banana Beach. Once at Big Banana, you will find a dirt path that skirts the cliff to the west, leading directly to Little Banana. The walk from Big Banana is only five to ten minutes, but it can be a bit steep in some sections, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
By Car or Motorbike
If we prefer the independence of our own vehicle, we can rent a car or motorbike in Skiathos Town. The road is well signposted to the Koukounaries area. There is a parking area, often paid, near Big Banana Beach. From there, access to Little Banana is still on foot via the same path. It is an excellent option for easily exploring other Skiathos beaches and the surrounding area.
By Water Taxi or Excursion Boat
Although less common for Little Banana directly, some boat excursions that visit the more remote beaches of Skiathos may offer stops at nearby coves. However, for Little Banana, the land access from Big Banana is the most practical and recommended. The experience of arriving on foot, with the panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, is in itself a prelude to the tranquility that awaits us.
The Sand and Water
Playa de Little Banana (Nudista) captivates us immediately with its sand and waters. The sand is a soft golden color, incredibly fine and pleasant to the touch, ideal for lying down and relaxing under the sun. It is the kind of sand that slips through your fingers, inviting you to walk barefoot and feel the connection with the earth. Although it is a small beach, its size is perfect for maintaining a sense of intimacy and personal space.
The Aegean waters at Little Banana are simply spectacular. Their transparency is astonishing, with hues ranging from bright turquoise to deep blue, depending on the sunlight. They are calm and crystal-clear waters, making them perfect for a refreshing swim and for snorkeling. We can observe small fish swimming near the shore, creating a natural spectacle that fills us with peace. The purity of the water is one of the reasons why this Skiathos beach is so cherished by those seeking an authentic and natural experience.
