How to Get to Playa de Lemonakia

Getting to Playa de Lemonakia is part of the adventure and, fortunately, quite simple. This wonderful cove is located on the north coast of the island of Samos, very close to the popular and vibrant village of Kokkari, one of the island's best-known tourist destinations. Its proximity to Kokkari (just a couple of kilometers to the east) makes it extremely accessible and convenient for those staying in the area or deciding to explore the island.

By Car or Motorcycle

For us, the most comfortable and flexible option to get to Lemonakia is to rent a car or a motorcycle. The road infrastructure on Samos is good and the route to the beach is well signposted. From Samos Town (Vathy), the island's capital, the journey is approximately 10-15 kilometers and will take us about 20-25 minutes. We simply have to follow the main road that runs along the north coast towards Kokkari and, just beyond this village, we will find the turnoff to the beach. There is a parking area, often paid during high season, where we can leave our vehicle. It's important to arrive early in the summer months to secure a good spot.

By Bus

If we prefer not to drive, public transport is a viable alternative. There are regular buses connecting Samos Town with Kokkari and other nearby villages. From Kokkari, we could opt for a local taxi, walk (it's a walk of about 20-30 minutes, with some slopes), or even a short bike ride. However, bus schedules can be limited, especially outside the high season, so we always recommend checking the updated routes and frequencies in advance.

Walking from Kokkari

For lovers of walks and panoramic views, the walking route from Kokkari is charming. It's a relatively short walk that rewards us with beautiful coastal landscapes. It's an excellent way to warm up before a refreshing dip or to stretch your legs after a day in the sun.
