How to Get to Leftos Gialos Beach

Getting to Leftos Gialos Beach is relatively straightforward, which adds another point to its appeal. Alonissos is an island primarily accessed by ferry or catamaran from ports like Volos, Agios Konstantinos, or Kymi on the mainland, or from other Sporades islands like Skiathos and Skopelos. Once at Alonissos's main port, Patitiri, we have several options to head to this wonderful beach.

By Car or Motorbike

We always recommend renting a car or motorbike to explore Alonissos at our own pace, and it's an excellent option for getting to Leftos Gialos. The beach is located about 6-7 kilometers northeast of Patitiri, which means a journey of approximately 15-20 minutes by car. The road is well-signposted and in good condition, although with some curves typical of the island's topography. It has a spacious and free parking area right behind the beach, which greatly facilitates the visit, especially during high season.

By Local Bus

During the summer months, Alonissos has a local bus service connecting Patitiri with several beaches and villages on the island. It is advisable to check the updated schedules at the Patitiri bus station, as they may vary. The bus is an economical and sustainable option, ideal if we do not wish to drive. However, the frequency might be lower than desired, so planning ahead is key.

By Taxi

Taxis are a comfortable and fast alternative, though more expensive. We can find taxis waiting at the port of Patitiri or request one from our accommodation.
